CANCER SURVIVOR DR TOM WU'S RECIPE FOR GOOD HEALTH

(Cancer, Diabetes, & Heart Disease can be overcome through diet. Dr. Tom Wu’s breakthroughs with Cancer & Diabetes have earned him the “Remarkable Contribution Award” from the American Cancer Society and the “World Famous Doctor Award” from The United Nations. )

At the age of 30, Chinese doctor Tom Wu was diagnosed with advanced stages of lung cancer, and was told he had only a few months to live. Not only has he survived, but the doctor has maintained a healthy life. The cancer is all gone, and he said he's never caught a cold or other illness for 40 years. He has stopped going for blood tests.

"My body and feelings tell me I'm well, that I'm truly in good health," says Dr Wu.

His secret lies in the power of natural healing. Dr Wu always says that no wonder drug can cure diseases. But our own internal healing power, our immune system, can. And what can strengthen our immune system are simple foods from Mother Nature, and a healthy lifestyle. In his view, diseases such as cancer, diabetes and heart disease can be overcome by changing the diet.

Dr Wu says people get sick because they eat the wrong foods. Fried food, for example, causes blockage in the arteries, bad circulation, cholesterol, and heart disease. "Instead of taking a cholesterol lowering drug, I would urge them to stop eating greasy food. My suggestion is to eat clean food, which is high in phytochemicals," he says.

Phytochemicals are natural cleansing agents that will help rid plaque from your arteries. They come from natural foods such as vegetables, fruits with their seeds, and common garden herbs. Phytochemicals will nourish the body's cells so they can fight against any foreign substances that invade your body.

Dr Wu's books on natural healing

The secrets of how he won the fight against lung cancer and maintains a healthy body are revealed in his first book, Dr Wu's Principle of Natural Cures, which has recently been translated from its original Chinese version into a Thai edition, Thammachart Chuay Chewit, published by Nanmeebooks Publications. It was launched in Thailand in March this year.

Dr Wu had first studied Western medicine in France, and then furthered his education in alternative therapy, earning a doctorate degree.

The turning point arrived when he was diagnosed with lung cancer at the age of 30. Modern medicine gave him no hope; it was too late to remove the damaged parts of the lung. The cancer had already spread to other organs, and the doctor told him he had only a few months left.

In his despair, Dr Wu picked up the Bible and prayed to God. Then the Bible fell to the floor, and he read the page it opened to carefully. The chapter talked about the days God created the Earth and everything needed for human beings. Then he created Adam and Eve, and told both of them that plants, vegetables and seeded fruits growing on Earth have been provided for them to eat.

"I thought about what I had eaten in the past - meat, fish, fried and grilled food, sweet cake, but God simply wanted us to eat vegetables and sour fruits. I was confused and doubted whether I would become weak if I ate too many vegetables and less meat," says Dr Wu.

Yet he decided to follow the Bible's guidance. He ate a lot of vegetables and fruits, drank clean water, and completely adjusted his lifestyle - his sleeping, breathing and exercise habits.

Nine months later, he went for a check-up, and surprisingly no cancer cells were detected.

He advised people in his family and in the neighbourhood about his discovery, and studied natural medicine until he received a doctorate degree in naturopathy and nutrition from the US.

Dr Wu and his wife Dr Janet Wu at the World Wellness Women's Congress in Chennai in March 2009

Dr Wu has been a frequent speaker at worldwide forums, spreading his knowledge on natural cures and the use of organic food. He advises people to use the most simple foods in the most natural way in order to fight illnesses and maintain good health.

The human body has the power to heal itself. The immune system has a self-defence mechanism to block and destroy bacteria or viruses that invade our bodies, while the self-healing mechanism will get us back on the road to recovery. When you have a cold and take medicine, the medication may kill the virus but your immune system will not fully function, and its efficiency will decrease. As a result, your body will be more vulnerable to germs.

Dr Wu's principle is to strengthen the immune system, and avoid medication as much as possible. In his book, he offers the following guidelines to good health:

1. Have at least three bowel movements a day.
Other health experts may advise one bowel movement a day, but Dr Wu says that's not enough. You need three to four bowel movements a day in order to excrete all the accumulated faeces from your intestine. Your liver will not be overburdened and it also helps reduce cholesterol in your body.

2. Drink at least three glasses of fruit or vegetable smoothies each day.
This is a way to ingest enough phytochemicals to strengthen the body's cells and immune system. Use not only the flesh, but also the skin and seeds of fruits and vegetables to make smoothies, as they are rich in phytochemicals. Most of the fruit seeds have small amounts of cyanide which kill bacteria and viruses without damaging the body.

Actually the recommended smoothie diet is six glasses a day, two in the morning, one before lunch, two more in the afternoon, and one more before dinner. However, if that's too much, you may start with three glasses a day. Use a high powered blender (at least three horsepower) as it can release phytochemicals from the fibre. It's best to choose sour fruits like green or red apples, grapes, pineapples, kiwi and lime.

Foods rich in phytochemicals

3. Sunbathe 30 minutes daily.
We often hear that the Sun's UV rays will damage our skin, and many people apply sunblock before going out. But Dr Wu says the opposite. He says the UV rays will help convert cholesterol underneath the skin into vitamin A which helps moisten the skin and
prevent skin cancer, and also vitamin D that helps prevent colds, osteoporosis, and certain kinds of cancer.

"Therefore, use the Sun. Expose yourself to sunlight about one-half hour a day, at noon or another appropriate time based on your local climate. The Sun will make you healthier," says Dr Wu.

4. Exercise 30 minutes a day.
Don't exercise for more than 30 minutes. If you go beyond that, your body will be overworked. "If you do it more than half an hour, that will become labour, not exercise. Your heart and your body will be working too hard," he says.

5. Shower with hot, then cold water.
Try an alternating cold and hot water shower: Three minutes of hot water followed by 30 seconds of cold water, then repeat twice more. This process will bring a rush of blood and energy to your body. It helps increase your immune system, blood circulation, and metabolism.

6. Drink a lot of water, in the correct way.
How much water you need to drink each day depends on your specific situation. If your office is air-conditioned, drinking six glasses of water a day is enough. If your work involves lots of walking, you have to drink 8-10 glasses a day. If you work under the hot sun, then 10-12 glasses of water are required.

The way you drink is also important. The correct way is to sip it little by little, to give your body cells time to absorb the water. If you drink the whole glass down at once, your cells can't absorb it all, and the water will be excreted as urine.

7. Eat according to your blood type.
Your blood type determines what you should eat. Eating the wrong foods will make you sick.

People with blood type O have to eat a certain amount of meat. If they eat only vegetables for a long time, their body won't absorb all the substances they need to strengthen their immune system. The recommended diet for this group is 75% vegetables, 10% fruits, 10% meat, seafood and goat's milk (avoid cow's milk), and 5% grains.

People with blood type A, however should avoid milk and meat, while increasing grains and fruits. People with blood type B should also avoid meat, while those with blood type AB should avoid chicken and beef.

8. Eat according to your biological clock.

Every human being has a biological clock that tells us when to eat, sleep, and wake up. If you don't follow your biological clock, the organs will lose their balance. Toxins and wastes won't be excreted from your body, and soon you'll get sick.

According to Dr Wu, the biological clock is divided into three phases.

From 4am to noon is the time for bowel movements, so in the morning you should eat foods with lots of fibre. Fruit and vegetable smoothies are recommended.

From noon to 8pm, your body will absorb food so lunch is the most important meal. A vegetable salad with grains is recommended. Fish or boiled eggs can be added to your lunch. Avoid meat at dinner as the amino acids in the meat will disturb your sleep. Try to finish dinner by 6pm.

From 8pm to 4am, the nutrients and energy from food will be distributed throughout your body organs. The golden time for your sleep is between 10pm and 2am, as your immune and self-healing system will function at its best.

Footnote: Dr Wu was in Malaysia in November 2008 to give a series of talks. His book "Smoothie Formula" is available at Popular Bookstores.

Most seniors are just too lazy to exercise. As a result they suffer from ill-health and a loss of muscle mass. According to experts, it's not too late to exercise. Walking and biking are excellent exercises. To prevent a loss of muscle mass, a gym workout with weights should be helpful. Our bodies are made for movement so get moving!

True, but I also know of many seniors who share your passion of travelling off-the beaten tracks. That's even better than working out in the gym daily. Check out the blog posts under Archives for June 2008 "Have Backpack, Will Travel" and October 2008 "Happy 75th Birthday, Uncle Xavier". You might have met some of these seniors in your travels!

Hi, I happen to chance upon your website which had the article on Dr Tom Wu. It mentioned that Dr Tom Wu was in Malaysia in Nov08 but did not go into details. Any chance that he will be here again and how does one get to know about his events? I am very keen on his smoothies but not able to read Chinese. Any help or suggestions? Thanks.

Hi,

Is there any chance I can have an email address of Dr Wu or any contact details as I just need to request a favour from him. Please I am desperately seeking for his help.

thank you..

Hi! I would like to know is there ENglish version of Dr. Wu's book? Where can I get it?

Darki said...

Roger, unless you are a senior please don't presume that 'most seniors are too lazy to exercise'.

Many of us carry on a normal life of movement despite the things that can slow us down. Often people do not move as much due to arthritis which can be a very debilitating pain, also breathing difficulties or heart disease... all things that can happen as one gets older.

Of course, if they had been able to follow the right diets for their bodies from the beginning then maybe they would not have the problems.

We can only hope that there will be more people like Dr. Wu in the future to assist the coming generations.

I seem to have been following Dr. Wu's recommendations for some time without even knowing it :)

I have not see or know Dr.Tom Wu but I did saw him in TV program. Please don't call him a liar unless you have tried his formula for 4 months for cancer patient and going to die.But one of my friends' niece was cured after followed his advise. She was having 2nd stage of cancer told by Dr. in Penang, Malaysia. My friends were shocked as well as her Dr too. Now the people surround her took one of the formulas and all of them are more healthy, those with big tummy, disappeared almost 1/2 of it! Amazing !
Most of the chefs are using this blender, so you have an idea where to find it.

Please don't believe in this guy, he is LIER. His credential about he is a western medical doctor is not true, it's some kind of certificate from a SriLanka institution which offers $750-$1350a MD degree, and the awards he got were from a big fradulent organization which has connection with the Sri Lanka institution ( those were found out by the newspaper reporters) In Taiwan, everyone knows this guy is a lier, so please trust your local medically trained doctor instead of some kind of unknown natural medicine. He might have some good points, but anyone who has a good health sense would do so, and don't buy the blender he sells, any blender would do the job. There was another so called a "Great Chinese Medicine Doctor" in China who was reported to be a lier as well. This guy made tons of money from a book he wrote about food and health, later, Chinese health official stated that "anyone who has a little bit of medical sense knows what he wrote in the book is wrong, you don't need expert to prove that" now this guy was no where to be found.

Referring to what Karen said on June 1, 2010, point 1," any blender can do what Dr. Wu's recipes", YOU ARE WRONG. Only good blender like 2 or 3 hp of a reputable brand (like vitamix 5200)can make a delicious drink and contains all the vitamins and minerals. This KAREN person, can you please do more research before you put your personal comment online???
You don't have to believe in Dr. Wu, but you don't have to do a personal attack, like most Taiwanese (media) LOVE to do. Please, the world needs more peace!

To those people who said Dr. Wu was a liar,

I've read his book and it made sense to me and personally, I don't see any harm in trying his method. There's nothing in his book that misleads the reader to believe that he is a miracle doctor who can cure every disease in this world. He just gives you the facts and information about nutrition that we can benefit from eating natural foods, which, if you are willing to try it out then it might help with whatever disease you're having.

So, whether he lied about his credential or not I don't know. But one thing I know is what he says in his book about nutrition one can benefit from eating healthy natural foods is not a lie.

Dr. Wu is not a fake by any means. His practice and health advise especially about using the raw fruitand vegetable smoothie and the special blender with the 3 horsepower really works. I personally have met him and he helped save my life from stomach cancer. I was referred to him by two friends who were also battling uterine and ovarian cancer who were also cured by his methods. Dr. Wu and his wife are great Drs and it's a shame that there aren't more people who are willing to try out what he teaches.

Dear bloggers, I am a nurse in the United States. I was first introduced to Dr. Wu when my mom picked up his book and started to rave about it. I am currently doing my research about Dr. Wu, while I am trying his diets and recipes.

First off, the book Dr. Wu wrote suggests us to eat healthy, and healthy eating is a lifestyle. People who are borderline hypertensive, diabetic, obese, ...etc, what do you think doctors tell them to do foremost? The very first thing is to eat healthy and exercise. However, it is easier said than done. Dr. Wu is suggesting alternatives for us to eat and live healthy.

Secondly, people who are at the end stage of cancer are willing to try ANYTHING. Dr Wu who was a cancer patient must have tried chemotherapy and radiation. From a nurse's experience, the complaints from patients after radiation and chemotherapy are pain, lethargic, and they often refuse to eat because of the pain. It is a cascading effect.

As a nurse, one of the goals for cancer patients is to encourage them to eat. Eating is essential for healing. In order for healing to take place, a person needs energy and a good immune system. And to strengthen the immune system, they need food high in nutritional value. Nutritional value is what Dr. Wu is referring too. A person can consume food that is in the same category in the food pyramid. For instance, when we compare apple and orange, they are both fruits. When we look at the nutritional value for both, an orange is a better alternative. It is lower in calorie, higher in Vitamin C value, and contains other nutrients.

Dr. Wu’s recipe contains a variety of fruits and vegetables with high nutritional values that are blended together so that we can absorb all the vitamins, minerals and nutrients essential for the well being of our health. Starting from the essential vitamins of A, B, C, D, E, and K; fibers that facilitate bowel movement; and minerals to promote growth and development.

We have to bear in mind that Dr Tom Wu is a Naturopathic Medicine Doctor. This means that he is practicing ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE that does not contain double blind research studies like western medicines. Alternative medicine can be an effective alternative treatment and cure for some, and can also be perceived as an inferior treatment for others.

As for the blender that is widely talked about. My mom went out of her way and bought a new stainless steel Breville (cant remember the model) blender.
It is USD160 and it works well with blending the ingredients from Dr. Wu’s recipe. You might still need to cut the avocado seed into smaller piece before blending.

It all boils down to what motivates you to eat healthy. Humans are habitual creatures. They eat the same food over and over again. Doctor Wu is recommending people to widen their spectrum in food choices because one fruit might have nutrients that other fruits do not have.

Read carefully & you be the judge.
Lemon (Citrus) is a miraculous product to kill cancer cells. It is 10,000 times stronger thanchemotherapy.
Why do we not know about that? Because there are laboratories interested in making a synthetic version that will bring them huge profits. You can now help a friend in need by letting him/her know that lemon juice is beneficial in preventing the disease. Its taste is pleasant and it does not produce the horrific effects of chemotherapy. How many people will die while this closely guarded secret is kept, so as not to jeopardize the beneficial multimillionaires large corporations? As you know, the lemon tree is known for its varieties of lemons and limes. You can eat the fruit in different ways: you can eat the pulp, juice press, prepare drinks, sorbets, pastries, etc... It is credited with many virtues, but the most interesting is the effect it produces on cysts and tumors. This plant is a proven remedy against cancers of all types. Some say itis very useful in all variants of cancer. It is considered also as ananti microbial spectrum against bacterial infections and fungi, effective against internal parasites and worms, it regulates blood pressure which is too high and an antidepressant, combats stress and nervous disorders.
The source of this information is fascinating: it comes from one of the largest drug manufacturers in the world, says that after more than 20 laboratory tests since 1970, the extracts revealed that: It destroys the malignant cells in 12 cancers, including colon, breast, prostate, lung and pancreas ... The compounds of this tree showed 10,000 times better than the product Adriamycin, a drug normally used chemotherapeutic in the world, slowing the growth of cancer cells. And what is even more astonishing: this type of therapy with lemon extract only destroys malignant cancer cells and it does not affect healthy cells.

I personally know Dr. Wu and he was actually in the bay area(san jose/san francisco) this past weekend doing a health seminar. His office is indeed in San Carlos, but he is out of the country until december. His appointment books are usually packed a few months in advanced so you can't just drop in and see him.

However, if you call his office they'll be able to set up an appointment for you. As of yesterday he's pretty booked for december as a result of the seminar

I am a dietitian currently doing a phD looking at the effects of diet on gut health and I really think Dr Wu's smoothie diet has poor scientific merit. Cancer-curing diets are all coincidental/ANECDOCTAL, don't you think. If you put 100 of these cancer-patients in stage 4 of the cancer and put them on the smoothie diet ALONE, how many of them will actually live to see the results of the study? It is unlikely that when someone is sooo ill and mal-nourished following a diet devoid of adequate high-quality protein and carbohydrate for energy will cause rapid weight loss and the consequences of this are often devastating as the body loses the ability to keep fighting, don't forget (dr wu may only be one miraculous case). Don't forget that your immune-system is actually made up of basic protein blocks.

There does not seem to be ACCURATE physiological basis for his recommendations in his book. Each individual has different bowel habits - to ask someone to have at least 3 - 4 bowel movements a day with his smoothies when their normal bowel habit is once/day is like giving them diarrhea. It is not surprising as a lot of the smoothie ingredients are natural laxatives. But the accompanying symptoms are jsut as bad to bbear - flaulence, abdominal pain? You can never completely empty your bowels unless you undergo starvation for another couple a day. Please don't be fooled by another money-making 'scientist'.

Dr. Wu's book is finally available in English, for the first time ever, in Nov., 2014 on Amazon.com, print version only. The title is Dr. Tom Wu's Different Approach in Natural Healing: Conquer Cancer and Other Diseases with Simple Foods. It is a guide to alternative medicine that avoids the need for invasive Western medical practices like chemo and radiation.
If you follow Dr. Wu’s guidance you’ll learn how the best “doctor,” the body’s immune system, can fight diseases and beat cancer with healthy lifestyle changes and “smoothies” made from fruits and vegetables that have amazing healing powers.
Dr. Wu was a medical doctor diagnosed with end-stage lung cancer at the age of thirty. Inspired by curing himself with natural foods, he earned a PhD in nutrition and became a Registered Naturopathic Diplomat. In 2008 he wrote his first book in Mandarin; it sold 1.2 million copies in a few months. Two later editions and a Thai translation followed, but until now readers have been waiting for the English translation. Most of the questions that you readers have posted are answered in the book, including how to reach him and how to know years in advance if cancer is in your body.
Dr. Wu’s Different Approach book contains 18 case studies, 24 specific “smoothie” recipes (each designed for a particular illness or body part), and moving testimonials from former patients around the world who have experienced the healing powers of his unique program. The English translation was edited by Constance Vincent, PhD (author of Not Going Gently), whose husband Ed overcame 3rd stage lung cancer 11 years ago by following Dr. Wu’s program.
Dr. Wu is definitely not a fake! As a worldwide holistic physician and educator, Dr. Wu has received numerous awards, citations, and recognition from many countries.
Instead of treating the symptoms, learn how to identify and cure the disease itself with the help of Dr. Tom Wu.

My Dad knows Dr Wu for a long time, he is a very respectable and honor man. He is currently very well known all over the world. I appreciate that people do not call him a liar or fake doctor without any proof. Talk to people who got treated by Doctor Wu, gather the facts, then make your own judgement, thank you.

The English translation of Dr. Wu's book is also available now in Kindle, on Amazon.com, for $19.98.

I know that the body has a self-defense mechanism otherwise we all all be sick my now from the dirt and pollution we get from the environment. I also know that as long we don't abuse it, our bodies can heal. In fact I gauge my level of health but my body's capacities to heal common ailments that visit me every now and then.

Most of all, our bodies have the wonderful capacity to adapt to situations it is subjected to - provided these are not harmful to it.

Therefore, while i find this article very informative and thought-provoking, I have problems in adopting some of his recommendations as they would dramatically alter the conditions my body has been used to for a long time. - http://www.agewithcharm.com/

To Michael,
You do not have to follow all of Dr. Wu's recommendations to have good health, but I strongly suggest that you follow MOST of his dietary suggestions on what to eat and what not to eat. Also, his ideas about exercise and getting enough Vit. D are now being prescribed by Western medicine as well because they are good practices for staying healthy-- and also to prevent Alzheimer's disease.

To those people who have called Dr. Wu a liar, I can tell you that you are completely wrong. My husband overcame 3rd stage lung cancer 13 years ago by following Dr. Wu's program and, because he still drinks several glasses of "smoothie" each day, at the age of 85 he is in excellent health.

As the editor of Dr. Wu's only book in English, I have known Dr. Wu since 2003. He is a very religious person who has been trained in naturopathy and alternative medicine and who practices what he preaches. He has helped many, many people to overcome serious diseases, including cancer.

Karen, I'm not sure whether his credentials are true. But the content of his book make sense though i don't agree 100%. Do you expect me to trust Taiwan reporters? You must be joking! You said"Anyone with good health sense would do so." Really? If so then there wouldn't be so many obese people walking around. Did he promote specific brand of blender? I can't find it mentioned in his book. "Please trust your local medically trained doctors. " That I agree with you. But unfortunately there are many instances, the best doctor in the world fails to offer satisfactory solution. That's where patients are left to seek alternatives. So don't kill their hope, unless you can offer better alternatives.
If you're suffering from cancer, what's a couple of hundreds of dollars to your budget? This amount probably just enough for one dose of chemo drug!

Constance Vincent said...

Actually, Dr. Wu does suggest two specific brands of blenders, one for 110 v in the United States and one for 220 v in China. You can find the recommendations on pages xxxiii and xxxiv under the section VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL READERS. I hope this helps.
By the way, while many people following the chemo and radiation protocols still die of cancer, I have not heard of anyone dying from cancer after seriously and conscientiously following Dr. Wu's program.

My moms friend was healed from cancer following dr wus diet to s T. Now my mom has cancer and is doing the same thing. Its hard because he has her on a s striet raw plant based diet with specific foods daily but shes doing it. One week in her face looks amazing and she hasn't needed a nap in two days. I would rather see her die like this than die miserably on chemo but hompefully through the power of food and God she will be healed.

Constance Vincent said...

Claudia, Thank you for writing about your mother's friend who was healed by following Dr. Wu's diet. My husband and I know it works; he had lung cancer stage 3b 14 years years ago now and at the age of 86 is still strong and healthy, still drinking the smoothies every day for maintenance (and so am I now) I am glad that your mother is seeing some results after the first week. I hope she will be strong and faithful in following the program, and that God and the correct foods in smoothies will heal her. God bless.

Constance Vincent said...

Dear Claudia, thank you for writing. My husband is still drinking Dr. Wu's smoothie for maintenance now since he was cured of stage 3b lung cancer by following Dr. Wu's program 14 years ago without chemo or radiation. I'm glad her friend was cured also, and I wish your mother the same success. She will have it if she is strong in her determination to stay on the diet.
God bless her.

James said...

How is Dr Wu? Is he still writing?

Constance Vincent said...

James, Dr. Wu will celebrate another birthday next week. He is still traveling quite often to the Far East, lecturing and teaching his method of healing. When he is at home in CA, he still meets with patients. I don't believe he is writing at this time--at least, not in English!

seniorsaloud said...

When is Dr Wu's birthday? His age?

Constance Vincent said...

Dr. Wu's birthday is Nov. 19. I believe he will be 80, but in Chinese years, he'll be 81 because they count from conception.
